An update on how I am practising currently...
For the forthcoming weeks I shall be working solely on an online platform. Sessions will be for for 50-60 minutes. The sessions will still be of the same format, as will be the work that still be completed to achieve growth and wellbeing for your self.
Furthermore, if you don't have access to a computer another alternative is telephone counselling.
If you are a NHS worker and require extra support in these uncertain times please get in touch to hear how I can support you and your wellbeing.
Please get in contact if any of these services might be of interest to yourself.
Be kind to youself
A BIT ABOUT CBT THERAPY
Personalised Attention for All Your Needs
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a talking therapy. It looks to help you manage problems by enabling you to recognise how your thoughts can affect your feelings and behaviours. CBT combines a cognitive approach (examining your thoughts) with a behavioural approach(the things you do). It aims to break overwhelming problems down into smaller parts, making them easier to manage.
During sessions I will work with you to help you focus on the "here and now". This will help you to recognise how past events may have shaped your thinking and behaviours, teaching you how to not only adapt your thoughts, but manage them long after therapy has finished
I’m Emma Parish
Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, a licensed Cognitive Behaviour Therapist based in Bearsden and the surrounding areas.
The main goal of my clinical practice is not only to help you understand the "why" of your struggles, but also teach you evidence based knowledge and skills to overcome them effectively (which we can call the "how"). My approach is compassion based, collaborative and solution focused. This means that we would work together to achieve your mental health goals and what has brought you to therapy.
I truly care about my clients well-being and guarantee top of the line counseling and cater sessions to your personal needs.
I work with a wide range of mental health conditions:
Generalised Anxiety Disorder(GAD)
Social Anxiety Disorder(SAD)
Traumatic life events
Grief & Bereavement
SERVICES I OFFER
With You Every Step of the Way
I acknowledge that the first step of coming to therapy is not always easy. So if you feel it would be of benefit to yourself I hold a free 20 minute phone call to yourself. This allows you to begin to feel comfortable with the process of sessions and whether CBT is the appropriate therapy for you.
Thereafter, sessions last for 50 minutes and are £50
The number of sessions are collaboratively agreed in the first session and reviewed at regular intervals.
I also offer Skype session at a reduced rate of £40 for a 50 minute session. Ideal for people who are at work or unable to travel.
A Happier, Healthier You
In my therapy sessions, we’ll work to solve current problems and improve positive thinking and behavior.
